Optical lens factory profit growth last year, jade crystal light alone haggard

Taiwan's specialty optical lens manufacturers(excluding those related to camera assembly)performed better last year than in 2012,thanks to increased demand for optical lenses driven by the growth of smartphone and tablet shipments and the support of their own technology base.In 2013,the after-tax earnings per share of Dali Kwong reached a record high of 71 yuan,and the earnings per share of Guangyao Ke reached 1.58 yuan,which was also the best performance in recent years.Advanced Light earned about 1.1 yuan per share last year,also slightly higher than in 2012.Only hinder the yield and customer parts of the machine sales of poor jade crystal light last year nearly four years in the first loss.
In 2013,the consolidated revenue of Guangyao Co.,Ltd.was about 1.122 billion yuan,with an annual increase of 27%,mainly driven by the substantial growth of the shipment of 5-megapixel lenses.The gross profit margin also increased to 36.39%,with an annual increase of nearly 13 percentage points.The annual net profit attributable to the owner of the parent company was 116 million yuan,up 2.1 times year on year,and the earnings per share reached 1.58 yuan,which was the best profit performance of Guangyao Ke in recent years.
At present,the main product of Guangyao Co.,Ltd is 5 megapixel lens.The high-end 8 megapixel lens has been produced in small quantity since last year.The market expects that if there is no accident(such as litigation risk,etc.),with the support of the main customers,the 8 megapixel lens will have the opportunity to be mass-produced this year.In January and February this year,the cumulative consolidated revenue of Guangyao Ke came to 188 million yuan,with an annual increase of 30.7%.Revenues are expected to be close to 300 million yuan in the first quarter,down by nearly 10 percent quarter on quarter and up by 20 to 30 percent year on year.
Last year,the consolidated revenue of Advanced Light was about 1.32 billion yuan,with a year-on-year increase of 23%.The gross profit margin reached 26.88%,with a year-on-year decrease of about 5 percentage points.The annual net profit attributable to the owner of the parent company was 87.28 million yuan,with a year-on-year increase of about 8%.The overall earnings performance would have been better had it not been for litigation related charges in the fourth quarter.
At present,the main products of Advanced Light are optical lenses,but IT still focuses on laptop computers and other IT applications.In addition,the company also provides digital camera lens/lens related products,but the proportion is relatively low,mobile phone,car,security control and other application lenses are planned to actively promote the business this year.Advanced Light's cumulative consolidated revenue for the first two months of this year was about 204 million yuan,up 43%from a year earlier.It is estimated that the revenue in March has the opportunity to recover to more than 100 million yuan,the first quarter of the revenue is estimated at nearly 300 to 320 million yuan,a quarter of 10%to 15%,an annual increase of more than 40 percent.
Last year,the consolidated revenue of YuJingGuang reached about 9.59 billion yuan,decreased by nearly 16%annually,the gross profit margin fell to 8.6%,decreased by 14 percentage points annually,the business loss,operating loss reached 580 million yuan,the net loss attributable to the owner of the parent company was about 364 million yuan,and the loss per share was about 3.7 yuan.It was the company's first loss in nearly four years since 2010.
Mainly due to the high-end products(high specification 8 megapixel lens)yield growth is slow,coupled with the main customer(Apple)sales of some products is not as expected and other factors.Yujing is expected to remain focused on optical lens products this year,but its customer structure will continue to adjust in the hope of developing more new customers and diversifying the risk of orders.Preliminary results are expected to show perhaps in the second half of this year.
